Welch Packaging Selected as Business of the Year

Updated: Sep 21, 2023

Brock Welch Receiving Chamber of Commerce Award

Welch Packaging has been named 2019 Business of the Year by the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce. The announcement came at the Chamber’s annual meeting at The Crystal Ballroom (Lerner Theatre) in Elkhart, IN on March 6, 2020.

The honor goes annually to one of the Chamber’s twelve Business of the Month recipients, who in turn are selected from more than 1,100 Chamber business members throughout the preceding year.

The Chamber of Commerce cited community involvement, corporate volunteerism, and philanthropic commitment as key criteria for Welch Packaging to receive the nod. Aside from sponsorship of events like the Wellfield Botanic Garden’s Festival of Lights, community theatre programs, and the Elkhart Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, the Chamber noted the selfless dedication of individual Welch Packaging associates. Welch set a 2019 goal of team members giving back 5,000 hours of community service. In reality, they nearly doubled that amount.

“Ever since we started as a small business in 1985, we’ve always strived to make a difference. We try every day to make a difference in our associates’ lives, in our customers’ businesses, and in the communities in which we live. Every single member of our Welch team is important in allowing us to have that impact,” said Brock Welch, General Manager of the Elkhart Campus.

Welch Packaging associates have played significant roles in supporting local charity organizations, elementary and high schools, entrepreneurship programs, and higher education. From building beds for less fortunate children, to working with Startup Moxie, a local entrepreneurship program, to donating to over 150 other local charities, Welch associates are truly living the vision set forth by founder Scott Welch.

Welch Packaging will be celebrating its 35th anniversary this April, a noteworthy accomplishment among local businesses. With an intense focus on customer service, associate training and development, and the improvement of the Elkhart area community, Welch Packaging is looking forward to many more anniversaries in the future. The entire Welch Family humbly thanks the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce for recognizing our business.

Congrats to Welch Packaging on this recognition, it is always nice to see companies rewarded for consistent effort and innovation. Reading about business success stories is motivating. On a different note, does anyone here have experience with rdms preparation and how demanding it is?

Awards like this show how much long term commitment matters in business growth. Regarding rdms, most people I know say steady study and understanding the concepts is more important than memorizing everything at once.

Congratulations to Welch Packaging on being named Business of the Year and for highlighting the importance of community involvement and service — that was so well articulated here. It’s refreshing to see businesses celebrated not just for growth but for meaningful impact, and the history you shared really brought that to life. I recently read a similar discussion on a samedaydiplomas review blog https://samedaydiplomas.com/, which also emphasized how recognition reflects commitment and values.

What a great shout‑out to Welch Packaging — it’s wonderful to see hard work and community involvement recognized in such a meaningful way. Your post captures both pride and humble leadership beautifully. I recently read a grandoaksorthodontics review blog https://grandoaksorthodontics.com/ that also highlighted stories of businesses making an impact, and it offered a nice perspective alongside this. Congrats on the achievement!

Really enjoyed this post! The way you explained the acquisition process and its impact on the packaging industry was very clear and informative.
