Early Career Professionals Program
Our Early Career Professionals (ECP) Program is tailored for newly hired associates starting their careers. Most ECP's are recent college graduates and there is no prior corrugated experience necessary. It doesn't matter what your major was--we will teach you what you need to know. We're interested in professionals who want to learn and grow in an environment where opportunities for growth and leadership abound!

About the Program
The program is structured to include classroom learning, on-the-job training, production experience and team-building. The ECP class usually starts in June and the experiences occur over the next several months.
You will be expected to contribute from the very beginning and you may receive exposure to a variety of different functional areas--production, estimating, design, customer service. For those interested, finance/accounting and Human Resources rotations may be available.

Duration
Production experience usually lasts approximately 3 months. As needs develop, rotations into other functional areas occur over the next several months. After completing rotations, you may re-locate to any of the locations in our network where we have business needs for your talents.
What to Expect
Expect to learn a lot about our industry, various functional areas--and much more about yourself and your aspirations.
Many ECP's choose to re-direct their career plans after experiencing functional areas they had not considered previously. Curiosity, exploration and new experiences are the hallmark of the ECP program.
Training
Learning consists of classroom and real-world experiences. You'll learn from each other as well as have exposure to managers and executives. You will have a mentor to help guide you through your experiences.
Team Building
ECP's form a tight bond with their cohort. Community service and team projects are part of your ECP experience. Your ECP class will represent Welch Packaging in the annual United Way "Great Cardboard Boat Race" where you will design, construct and race full sized corrugated boats for fun and charity.
