Elkhart, IN is the longtime home of Welch Packaging. Started in 1985 with just a handful of corrugated converting machines and staff, Scott Welch has been manufacturing custom cardboard boxes here ever since. Our Elkhart, IN location is not only home to our largest brown box division but also our brand new corrugator as well as our graphics department.
Each custom cardboard box you receive starts its life in our Elkhart facility as a giant roll of paper weighing nearly 8,000lbs. Then, our team of skilled corrugator operators manage the process to convert the roll stock into corrugated sheets. From there, the corrugated boards are either loaded onto trucks and delivered to our sister plants or delivered via conveyor to our Elkhart machines.
Additionally, all custom litho-laminated boxes also come from our Elkhart facility. Our graphic department is full of highly skilled associates, many having more than a decade of experience in the custom litho-label box industry. Handling everything from small boxes for the prepackaged food industry to large litho labeled retail displays, there isn't much that we can't handle.
Elkhart's GM of the brown box division is Brock W. "It doesn't get any more dynamic than the puzzle we solve everyday for our customer. With that complexity comes challenges but those challenges bring the most reward," he elaborates on his job. Brock, who was quoted previously discuss how he and his team work together to meet their on time delivery promise and customer expectations time and time again.
